Patricia Menjura is a Colombian visual anthropologist who holds a degree in anthropology from the Javeriana University in Bogotá and a master’s degree in Cultural and Creative Industries from Paris VIII University. She specialises in the support, distribution and promotion of audiovisual projects within international film production and distribution networks in Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Spain, Germany and France.
In 2012, she joined « El Espejo », an international short film festival in Bogotá, a television programme on a public channel and a platform for audience development. In 2014, she co-founded Colombia’s first audiovisual and performing arts festival focusing on gender, sexual and post-pornographic dissidence
She has lived in France since 2016 and, since 2022, has been part of the French collective of « Cinéastes Non Alignées » as a programmer and researcher specialising in female filmmakers from Latin America.
Since 2017, she has been working on the distribution films from the Global South (Americas, Africa, Middle East).
Since 2023, she has become increasingly involved in projects with live elements: performances and improvisations centred on sound experimentation and active listening.
